See 17 Students who register for this program and fail to successfully complete the preparatory class in two years despite attending the foreign language preparatory class will be dismissed from the program. Students who fail the preparatory class and are dismissed from the program may register for an equivalent program in their own higher education institution, if any, where the language of instruction is Turkish. See 32 Maritime education institutions in higher education institutions are evaluated by the General Directorate of Sea and Inland Waters Regulation of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication on a yearly basis. In this context, in accordance with the International Convention on Certification of Training and Watch keeping Standards for Seafarers (STCW), students and graduates who receive education and training in educational institutions/organizations providing maritime education can obtain a seafarer's certificate and/or proficiency certificate if the audit reports of the educational institutions/organizations are appropriate. The report on the authorization status of the relevant higher education institutions can be accessed from the https://gbs.udhb.gov.tr/ Seafarers Education Information System.
